73 rd Independence Day
The 73rd Independence Day was celebrated at Dr.G.S.K memorial school on 15th August 2019. Chief Guest Mr. V.Jayachandiran, District Superintendent of Police, Kumbakonam Division hoisted the National Flag, preceded by students March past. He delivered the Independence Day Address. In his speech, he created awareness to the students about Road safety. He also stressed upon the fact that thousands of freedom fighters had fought for our nation.
As a part of the celebrations grade III to VIII performed on stage, singing patriotic songs, kindling the patriotism by speech and dancing to live the moment. Mr.Balaji Dean highlighted the need to understand the days significance besides listing out our achievements since 1947, as a nation. On this occasion certificates were given away to the students by our chief guest and a memento was given to a student to acknowledge his participation in Tamil Nadu Team Nationals. School Head girl welcomed the gathering while, Head Art Academy proposed vote of thanks. Ms. Radha Prabu officiating Vice Principal (Admin), Teachers and Students of the school were present.
