71st Republic Day

The fervor of freedom the 26th January, on the nostalgic occasion of this red letter day 71st Republic Day was celebrated with Pride and Patriotism at Dr. G.S.K on the festivities commenced on a musical note. The school band played a note which reverberated everyone with the feelings of Patriotism. The entire school courtyard was resplendent in the shades of tricolor.
The ceremony began with the hoisting of the tricolor the pride of Nation by the revered Chief guest Mr. Karunakaran, I.P.S., Inspector Taluk Police station Kumbakonam.
It was followed by inspiring speeches on the significance of the occasion the spectacular Drill, Dance and Group discussion which stole the hearts of the audience. The power and energy exhibited by youngsters arced their commitment and dedication and assured of a bright and brand future ahead.
Our Principal Ms. Jayanthi addressed the gathering with her exuberant speech and instilled the minds to grow courageous and be bold enough to face the challenging world ahead.
Hundreds of prizes were distributed to the deserving students from Grade VI XII who took part in various Internal and External Competitions, which include The National Science Olympiad and Sports etc.
Chief guest in his speech exhorted us to maintain the dignity of being a citizen of Republic; enrich life with values and utilization of virtual world for the noble cause. A vote of thanks was tabled by the head of Fine Arts. The program ended with the distribution of sweets.
